CREATING VALUE THROUGH CLIENT DRIVEN SOLUTIONS

Oswald understands that every development and construction project is unique and the process used to deliver a completed facility might require an alternative to conventional delivery methods.  By providing customized, client driven solutions, Oswald is able to address the uniqueness of every project and ensure the goals and objectives are being met.  These client driven solutions are based on trust, honesty, transparency, and collaboration as well as offering our clients alternatives such as Green Building, Lean Construction, Integrated Project Delivery and Building Information Modeling.  These solutions create value for our clients by increasing cost savings, accelerating project schedules, and delivering better functioning facilities.

Green Building
Incorporating sustainable building practices and materials into a project is not just good for the environment; it can benefit an owner’s bottom line and overall building functionality.  Oswald's LEED® Accredited Professionals (APs) work with owners to implement green features into their buildings, whether they are pursuing LEED® Certification or simply looking to reduce the cost of building maintenance.   Our LEED® APs are active members of the Cincinnati Chapter of the U. S. Green Building Council, which keeps them informed of the most current sustainable building practices.

Lean Construction
Lean Construction is a project delivery method designed to maximize value through the reduction of waste.  Lean Construction is based on the same fundamentals that Toyota implemented in automobile manufacturing.  Oswald recognizes that many factors can negatively impact project value, such as: waiting for other trades to finish work; purchasing excess construction materials; and performing remedial trade work.  To address these issues, Oswald implements Lean Construction methods, which result in increased value for our clients.  Lean Construction often uses BIM software and Integrated Project Delivery to maximize value and eliminate waste.

Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)
IPD is an alternative to the traditional design-bid-build construction project.  In an IPD project, the owner, architect, contractor and certain trade contractors enter into a single shared agreement at the outset of a project. This is done to leverage the knowledge and expertise of all team members and technologies.  Although each party is responsible for its defined scope of work, IPD demands that the parties collaborate and share ideas, therefore expanding the value they provide throughout the project lifecycle.  Oswald encourages owners to participate in IPD because cost savings are increased, project errors are reduced and the work is completed in a collaborative environment when compared to other delivery methods.

Building Information Modeling (BIM)
Oswald offers its client the latest technology in order to deliver a better building for its clients.  BIM software, a recent development in project delivery software, allows clients to view a 3-D image of their building prior to the commencement of construction.  These 3-D models often reveal problems with building design and layout that may go undetected through the review of blueprints.  BIM allows Oswald to detect design problems before a job starts, therefore saving its clients valuable time and money.
